Offline mode allows you to take sales if and when the internet goes down. You can check if the internet has gone down using the useful online indicator. This can be turned on and off from the
Point of Sale > Settings > General page where it says
If the internet was to get disconnected, the products database from the browsers cache will be used. It is important to note that stock values will be static from the last sync of inventory. The connection status will go red as shown below:
At this point, adding products will be as normal and the notification will show you that you have added an offline order:
Immediately after the internet gets re-connected, a modal window will appear showing the progress of offline orders being pushed to the orders database:
The order numbers for orders taken offline will have
-OFFLINE added to the end of it as shown below in the report:
Please note that offline mode does not allow you to take any transactions that require internet connection. Therefore, the only payment methods that do work are Cash, Bank Transfer, Cheque and Chip & PIN.
